How do I know what books can be rented?
For textbooks that can be rented, a rental price will be listed online along with the new and/or used prices. In the store, the shelf tag will have a rental sticker/flag for a rental book.

Why are only certain textbooks available to rent?
The Bookstore has a partnership with a vendor to make textbook rentals available to our students. They select what books can be rented. In general, books sold in a bundle, older editions, and custom textbooks are not eligible.

In addition, this is our first semester renting textbooks and for our trial semester we are limiting the number of books to rent. This will allow us to better evaluate the process so that we can offer more rentals with success.

Can a PSEO student rent his/her textbooks?
PSEO students are not able to rent textbooks that are covered under the PSEO program.
PSEO students can rent textbooks for courses that are not eligible for the PSEO program and will need to pay out of pocket.

I have a third party paying for my textbooks, can I rent my textbooks?
Textbooks that are paid by a third party (JTPA, DRS, employer, etc.) cannot be rented.

If I am paying with my Financial Aid or a scholarship, can I rent my textbooks?
Yes, and please make sure you remember to return them by the due date.

What happens if I lose my textbook or forget to return it by the due date?
You will be charged the full price of the textbook you rented and additional $25. If the charge is not paid off, a hold will be placed on your account.

My book is damaged/missing components; can I still return my book?
No, the bookstore will not accept books that are damaged or missing components (CDs). Examples of a damaged book are torn pages, dented bindings or covers, water damage, etc.

Can I write or highlight in my rented book?
Yes, limited highlighting or writing is acceptable.

Can I rent textbooks online?
Yes, the same books that you can rent in the store are also available to rent online.
